The brilliant Women's days at FOD, supported by the Forestry are a great way to build confidence and skills in a super supportive environment.

The women's day is on the 13th June this year and we are deligted to be running a 'Core' session in the morning and a 'Progress' session in the afternoon.

Core is great for people hitting the trails for the first time or those returning to mountain biking after some time off.

Progress is great for those wanting to regain confidence or build on the fundamental skills before moving on to harder trails.

Core skills

Core helps you to develop the fundamental skills you need to ride off road; these skills will increase your confidence and let you have more fun on your bike.

What do we cover in Core?
Balance and positioning – We’ll help you improve your balance by learning how to stand on the bike in an efficient way for off road riding.
Braking – We’ll check in to make sure you can use your brakes safely, to give you more control on the bike.
Hops – We'll develop skills to be able to lift the front and rear wheel off the ground. This can be used on the trail to go over small roots.
Drops – We'll explore how to move when rolling off small steps - this will help you tackle them with confidence on the trails.
Trails used: Blue trails and other skills sections.
Max group size:
Timings: 3 hours
